Interpreting SC101 Light Status

This describes all the SC101 light states.

Light Light State What It Means What You Should Do
Red Disk Light Off

1) SC101 has no power

2) SC101 is not turned on

3) There is no disk activity

1) Check plug has power

2) Plug in the SC101

3) Normal state, do nothing

  On 4) There is disk activity 4) Normal state, do nothing
Green Power Status Light Off

1) SC101 has no power

2) SC101 is not turned on

3) Self-test is not finished

1) Check plug has power

2) Plug in the SC101

3) Normal state, do nothing

  On 4) SC101 is working normally 4) Normal state, do nothing
  Fast constant blinking 5) No working hard drives are inserted 5) Power off the SC101, insert working hard drive
 

1 blink at intervals (rare)

6) Error on disk 1 encountered 6) If operation continues normally, do nothing. However disk errors may lead to some unreadable files. Make sure this disk is backed up, or replace the disk.
  2 blinks at intervals (rare) 7) Error on disk 2 encountered 7) If operation continues normally, do nothing. However disk errors may lead to some unreadable files. Make sure this disk is backed up, or replace the disk.
  3 blinks at intervals 8) DHCP network addressing problem 8) Consult the User Manual on DHCP
  4 blinks at intervals 9) An older, incompatible disk is inserted 9) Power off the SC101, replace disk with ATA6 IDE disk or newer
Yellow Ethernet Status Light Off 1) SC101 has no power 1) Check plug has power
  On 2) No data is being transferred over network 2) Normal state, do nothing
  Blinking 3) Data is being transfered over network 3) Normal state, do nothing
